Arcadia - Space Jam - Storyboards and Keyframes

Some of the work I did for Arcadia Games for their very neat virtual reality Space Jam experience. This is some of the early work.

We started by working out the beats of the games people would be playing in VR, and tied them together with a story inspired by Space Jam: A New Legacy. Call it a soft prequel maybe?

We selected a few main shots to be upgraded into full keyframes to show off the space and games. Because they were based off of existing boards, they fit neatly into the rest of the boards, so we kept 'em in.

If you've seen the movie, you'll know how these virtual reality games work. Players would start in Arcadia's own arena, and after Pete the robot steals their ball, players get transported through the Space Jam logo into the Acme testing ground in the"tune" world. players have to escape by dodging all the awesome Acme merchandise exploding around them. Retrieving the ball sends players to the Space Jam server, where they have to play a final game of VR basketball.

Definitely stretched my style muscles between the hyper sci-fi of VR, cartoons of Tune world and the sports of Space Jam. Also had fun dropping little easter eggs with the Warner Brothers properties over the project.

Note: I didn't work on the film itself ;)
